Adding on Ten -by Mo'onia

Learning Intention: W.A.L.T.- add tens to any number by counting in tens or adding ten together.
Success Criteria: I know I am successful when I can add tens together.

Problems:
1. 40 carvings + 20 carvings = 60 carvings
I know that 4 tens + 2 tens = 6 tens

2. 37 bananas + 40 bananas = 77
I know its 77 because 30 + 40 = 70 + 7 = 77

3. 15 + 5 10 = 30
I know its 30 because 15 + 5 = 20, 20 + 10 = 30

4. 6 + 4 + 2 + 7 + 8 = 27
I know its 27 because 6 + 4 =10 + 2 + 8 = 10 so, 10 + 10 = 20 + 7 = 27

Whales -by Mo'onia

                      Report about whales
Learning Intention: W.A.L.T.- write a report.
Success Criteria: I know I am successful when I write a report about whales.

Whales are mammals. Whales breathe air as we do.

Whales have flippers. They have some very little hair. Whales have fins on their backs known as a dorsal fin. Some whales have two blowholes, while toothed whales have one.

Whales swim  using their muscular tail called fluke. They can swim left or right. Whales can swim faster with their tail. Whales eat small fishes, shrimp, plankton, crabs, and krill.

Whales live in oceans.

Sharks -by Mo'onia

Learning Intention: W.A.L.T.- write a report.
Success Criteria: I am successful when I write a report about sharks.

Sharks are fish, they are cold blooded. They are not mammals.

Sharks can be found in the oceans. Some live in the rivers and lakes. The female sharks lays fertilised eggs that hatch later but most sharks give birth to live young.
Sharks have sharp teeth. They have a tail, flippers and fins. They can also be extremely big and heavy. Sharks eat    seals, crabs, squids, sea lions, fish, other sharks, and even turtles.
A group of sharks can attack whales.

Sharks move their bodies from side to side through the water. A shark must keep swimming or it will sink. Others move faster using their tails.
