learning Intention:We are learning how to write persuasive writing.
Success Criteria: I am successful when I can persuade someone to agree with my arguments.
People say that they love fish because they are adorable and they swim around. I think fishes can be scared or shy to us. They live in warm water so that they don't get cold by their body. They get eaten by bigger fishes that grow.
Sometimes people don't like fish because they are a bit boring because when they swim and swim people get tired of looking at them. They can't walk or run because they don't have oxygen to breathe. I think kids like fishes because of their colour like rainbow fish, gold fish, clownfish and dory fish. They can't live in hot water because they will die from breathing.
Today Rachel and Hazel came to our school to room 8 to introduce the summer learning journey. They told us about the prizes they were chocolate,slime,fidget spinners and more. The programme is about posting work on their blog and receiving points. We were to register if we wanted to participate in the Summer Learning Journey.
Fish For Breakfast
Learning Intention: W.A.L.T.- retell one of the after Easter story.
Success Criteria: I am successful when I can retell the after Easter stories by drawing a comic strip.
1. Peter, John,and James went fishing.
2. They fish all night but caught nothing.
3. Someone called out from the shore to throw their net on the other side of their boat.
4.Peter jumped into the water because he knew it was Jesus.
4. The disciples eat fish down by the shore with Jesus.
Report- Maui Dolphins
L.I.- W.A.L.T.- write a report.
Success Criteria: I am successful when I can write a report about Maui dolphins.
Maui dolphins have a rounded black fins. Other Maui dolphins usually have a sickle-shaped fin. Their bodies are a grey with white and black markings and a short snout. They use their fluke to swim fast. Maui dolphins feed on smaller fish, squid, and flatfish.
They are only found in the ocean, off the West Coast of New Zealand North Island.
Learning Intention: W.A.L.T.- identify how the disciples felt before the Pentecost.
Success Criteria: know I am successful when I can draw one picture of Jesus showing respect for the tapu in people.
Jesus Respected TAPU of the leper by showing aroha and he healed the leper.
Learning Intention: W.A.L.T. -multiply numbers up to 100 and using repeated addition.
Success Criteria: I know I am successful when I can multiply numbers using skip counting, doubles and repeated addition.
Problems:
1. How many marbles are there all together? 2 children had 10 marbles each = 20
I know its 20 because 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20, 10 + 10 = 20, 10 x 2 = 20.
2. Puppy and Sam and Emma have 5 marbles each. How many marbles do they have all together? 5,10,15,or 5+5+5=15, and 5 x 3 = 15.
